Alpha Communities was established in 1994 to work with abandoned street children and poor families who were living on the verge of starvation. Alpha began by providing them with food and clothing. Later this work expanded with foster care homes being established to house and care for abandoned street kids. To provide these children with a future, kindergartens were developed. Presently over 130 children, too poor to afford an education in Mongolia, are now attending Alpha Communities Kindergartens in Ulaan Bataar, the national capital and Arkhangai Province.
